Physical Geography Guide

This Teacher Help has been created to make implementing afternoon Physical Geography lessons easier. It has been written to accompany Outdoor Geography by Herbert Hatch. This is the book that Charlotte Mason assigned as a teacher resource for students in Forms 2-4. Each of the Physical Geography 1 & 2 Guides include 10 lessons, chosen and arranged in a logical order from Hatch’s book, to be done either once per week or once per month providing material for either a term or an entire school year. Each lesson included in the Guide provides information for any pre-requisite lessons that need to be completed before embarking on the lessons presented, the materials and resources needed for each lesson, notes on how much time is needed for each lesson, and a step-by-step lesson procedure.

A separate Guide for Geography Walks gives ample ideas and goals for Family Geography Walks that can be enjoyed a few times each year to help your students come to know and explore their local geographic location. This Guide can be used with students of all ages and is applicable to any location.

Physical Geography 1 covers lessons on The Sky and Weather

Physical Geography 2 covers lessons on Plans and Maps as well as Heights and Contours
